While yes birds evolved from therapod dinosaurs in the Jurassic (which does mean T-rex and chickens are nothing alike), that doesnt mean they are dinosaurs. Dinosaurs and pterosaurs had a common ancestor but are not the same thing. That' like calling humans small rodents because we evolved from them
