Pare che la melanzana, ortaggio dal colore viola, abbia avuto origine in India, anche se per alcuni in Cina, e che furono gli Arabi a scoprirla e diffonderla in Medio Oriente nonché a portarla nella penisola iberica nel VII secolo, ma solo dal XV secolo raggiunse tutto l'Occidente. Ed ecco che dobbiamo ringraziare l'Asia, perchè grazie ad essa possiamo assaporare questo magico ortaggio.
